I GENERAL MANAGER LEWES BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS LEWES, DELAWARE The Lewes, Delaware Board of Public Works will be seeking a GENERAL MANAGER to assume full I responsibility of this publicly owned utility system with a budget of $9.0 million consisting of electrical distribution, potable water production and distribution, and sanitary sewer collection and treatment operations and a possible -addition of a storm water utility department. Lewes, Delaware is located on the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, approximately two hours from Baltimore, MD., Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, PA. At present, BPW personnel total 25. A five member elected Board oversees and administers this utility system, which presently serves The City of Lewes and portions of adjacent Sussex County, DE. Currently, there are approximately 3,400 electric customers, 3,000 water customer, and 2,600 sanitary sewer customers. Bulk power is purchased from Conectiv Power. The raw water sources are five deep water wells, with treatment consisting of lime, fluoride, and chlorination. Major upgrades of the utilities are either in progress or about to commence. The Board of Public Works is seeking a highly qualified person with a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related field. Previous utility experience in at least two of the three disciplines involved is a must. (Electric, Potable Water, Sanitary Sewer) An MBA is highly desirable.
