Walnut St. in Milford will of- fer adult classes in January. The Watercolors in Motion class will examine different techniques to convey motion in two-dimen- sional arts. By exploring different styles and media of other artists, stu- dents will leam to interpret and apply motion to their own art. Some watercolor experience is recommended. A supply list will be given up- on registration. Bring a lunch. Class is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Satur- day, Jan. 12. Cost is $50 MAL members and $60 nonmembers. In Drawing with Bill Patterson, students will learn how to use basic shapes and texture to cre- ate a variety of objects, how to show depth and develop a center of interest and how to convey the effects of light and shadow on objects to create a sense of form and volume by using various me- dia such as colored pencil and acrylic paints. Class runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Jan. 16 through Feb. 20. This class is for students age 16 to adult. Cost is $80 MAL mem- bers and $95 nonmembers. In the winter watercolor class, Holly Sprig with Kelly Sverduk, students can beat the January blues by spending a few hours engrossed in the brilliant reds and greens of the American holly tree. They will use graded washes tO depict form in leaves and berries, while practicing basic watercolor techniques. Partici- pants will leave with a finished holly sprig painting. Supplies in- cluded. Bring a lunch. Class is from 10 a.m. to2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. Cost is $45 Alliance holds auditions Jan. 5 for 'Wonderland' Delaware Dance Alliance will hold auditions for its spring per- formance of "Alice in Wonder- land," from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 5, at First State Academy of Dance, 107 Maple Ave. in Milford. Auditions are open to those who will be 7 years old or older by July 1, 2013. Audi- tion class fee is $15, payable to DDA.
