78 - ffAPE GAZETTE - Friday, January 12 - Monday, January 15, 2007 Archives plans celebration The Delaware Public Archives will celebrate the 150th anniver- Sary of the Delaware Railroad with a special, limited time exhib- it Jan. 23 to Jan. 27, featuring doc- uments from the archives&apos; Delaware Railroad Company col- lection and a Delaware related model railroad_display created by the Delaware Seaside Railroad Club. The exhibit will include passen- ger train schedules, railroad maps, correspondence, stock certificates and other documents related to the Delaware Railroad Company. In addition, the S-scale model rail- road display will feature the Lewes Ferry Terminal, the Georgetown and Lewes train depots, and several other familiar Delaware scenes along the rail- road route. The exhibit and dis- play will be featured at the Archives from Tuesday, Jan. 23 through Saturday, Jan. 27. The special exhibit hours will be from 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. each day. On Wednesday, the exhibit and display will be open {mtil 7:30 p.m. The Delaware Public Archives is located at 121 Duke of York St. in Dover. For more information, contact Tom Summers at 302-744-5047. Quilt demonstration set The Delaware Quilt Documentation Project will hold its first session of 2007 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan: 13, at theAir Mobility Command Museum, located on the grounds of the Dover Air Force Base in Dover. The project is designed to recordd. :tradition.0f quilt- .i making :i'iflie State 6f !Ddaware and to he!/pe it leg for future gene/ations. owners of quilts made before 1945 are encouraged to bring their quilts to this informative docu- mentation process which involves photographing each quilt, record- ing its physical characteristics, and gathering historical informa- tion about the quilt and/or the Jan. 13 quilt-maker. There is no cost to quilt-owners for'this process and admission to the museum is free of charge. The Delaware Quilt Documentation Project is a col- laborative effort between the Delaware Dision of Historical and Cultural Affairs (HCA), the University of, Delaware, and Delaware :.,State.
