CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, January 17 - January 23, 1997 - 25 Chjrch N0tes Christian Storehouse sets open house Feb. 2 The Christian House of Ruth is a transitional house for a homeless family in Sussex County, with the time a family will be housed depending on the individual need of each family. The Christian Storehouse will be the site of an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2 and is located on Old Landing Road in Millsboro. The house is used by families during their time of need, whether it is due to weather, illness, the loss of a job, fire, etc. For more information call 855-7707 during the day and 934-7978 during the evening. Knights of Columbus to march in Rally for Iife The Father Vincent R. Capodanno Assembly No. 2413 and Star of the Sea Council No. 7297 will join with Bishop Saltarelli on Wednesday, Jan. 22, as he is the celebrant and homilist at the annual Rally for Life. St. Edmond's Catholic Parish in Rehoboth Beach will provide bus transportation to and from the Washington, D.C. rally in Jan. 22. This year's 24th Annual March for Life activities in Washington, D.C. begin with an 8 p.m. Mass in Thanksgiving of the Girl of Human Life on Tuesday, Jan. 21, to be held in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception near the campus of Catholic University of America. Bishop Saltarelli plans to attend the vigil activities. Star of the Sea Council will provide buses on Wednesday,/an. 22, leaving from Saint Jude's Catholic Church at 7 a.m. and arriving in Rehoboth Beach at 11:30 a.m. The bus will return to Lewes at 7:30 p.m. A free will offer will be taken and children are free. If there is enough interest on the high school and college level, another bus will be provided for the youth free of charge. They will join in the march beginning at noon at the Ellipse along Constitution Avenue. Participants will proceed to the U.S. Capitol, then to the Supreme Court. Some marchers, such as Delaware's Right to Life delegation, will proceed to the senate and house office buildings to meet with their representatives. The Delaware Knights are again sponsoring the Pro Life Mass, with concelebrant Father Philip L. Siry, pastor of St. Paul Church in Delaware City and state chaplain for the Knights of Columbus, and a fourth degree honor guard will attend. The State Knights will also be represented by State Deputy Michael F. Panfile, other state officers and members of the various councils. The Star of the Sea Council 7297 is one of the largest Knights of Columbus councils in Sussex County and included Milton, Nassau, Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and Angola, serving St. Jude's in Nassau and St. Edmond's in Rehoboth Beach. Grand Knight Paul LeClerc said he hopes to triple last year's response in the march. The Knights of Columbus welcome anyone who wants to peacefully restore respect for life. Walking meditation at St. Peter's set Jan. 19 Walking meditation on the St. Peter's Labyrinth, a 30-foot circular replica of the path laid in the floor of France's Chartres Cathedral, will be open to the public for walking meditation and reflective prayer from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19.
