Cape Gazette NEWS FRIDAY, JANUARY 24- MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2014 23 Obituaries )) Robert S. Sharp, painter and builder Robert S. Sharp, 70, of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2014. He was born in Wilmington July 6, 1943, son of the late Wil- liam E and Idella Johnson Sharp. Robert (Bob) graduated from John Dickinson High School, Wilmington. Immediately fol- lowing graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served for six years. He was honorably dis- charged in 1969 and embarked on a career as a painter and builder, retir- ing in 2006. During many of Delaware's cold and icy winters, Bob traveled to his second home Robert Sharp in Florida's warm climate. He established many friend- ships in Florida and Delaware where he was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post 28. Robert was an avid fisherman and en- joyed boating on the Delaware waters. He also enjoyed watching football and listening to country music. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his brother, William (Billy) Sharp. He is survived by his lov- ing wife of 28 years, Geraldine Rentz-Sharp of Lewes; six grand- children: Collin R. Waters, Haley C. Waters, Brian T. Rentz, Lauran L. Rentz, Mitchell E Rentz and Sofia I. Rentz; a brother, John Sharp and his wife Linda; a sis- ter, Barbara McLane and her husband Tommy; two nieces: Alicen Sharp and Kathy Mad- ron; a nephew, Michael McLane; a stepdaughter, Christine M. Waters and her husband Karl; two stepsons, Brian J. Rentz and his wife Maria, and Mitchell T. Rentz; and his cherished pet Joshlynn. Memorial services with mli- tary honors will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Fu- neral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may callbeginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Sharp's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice of the Delmarva Peninsula, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966. The family would like to thank all those who assisted in the care of Robert during his illness, es- pecially Compassionate Care and the volunteers. Sylvester 'Chuck' Quillen Jr., owned repair shop Sylvester G. "Chuck" Quip len Jr., 56, of Clarksville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born in Milford, son of Sylvester Q uillen Sr. and the late Charlotte (Lynch) Quip len. Chuck retired from the Indian River School District after 25 years of ser- vice. He was also owner Chuck Quillen and operator of Quillen's Repair Shop in Clarksville for 37 years, where he spent most of his free time. Quillen Sr. of Clarksville ; his loving wife of 35 years, Gail (Loveland) Quillen; a son, Sylvester G. Quillen III of Georgetown; daughter, Jenna Reynolds of Frankford; and three grandchildren, Kylee, Zachary and Steven.
