Cape Gazette NEWS FRIDAYi JANUARY 24 - MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2014 20 Obituaries )) Christopher Johnson, enjoyed surf fishing Christopher Johnson, 64, of Lewes, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes. He was born in Wantagh, N.Y son of James J. and the late Doro- thy (Aped Johnson. Christopher, who was affec- tionately known as "Cheese" or "Lenny" to family and friends, enjoyed tending his garden and surf fishing locally. Forever the practical joker, he loved pull- ing pran'ks on friends and family. He could tell jokes endless- ly and always had time for sharing a good story. C. Johnson " Cheese's oth- er interests were playing darts with the Fun- sters dart league and throwing a few horseshoes with friends. A true "people person," Cheese enjoyed meeting his friends for Happy Hour at The Wharf, where they would exchange a few laughs and stories. An avid New York Yankees fan, Cheese never missed an opportu- nity to root his team to victory! His love of baseball led him to manage his daughters' Little League team, where he enjoyed sharing his love of the game. Cheese is survived by his wife, Christina (Donofrio); his two daughters who were his pride and joy through and through: Jaime and Jessica Marie Johnson of Lewes; his granddaughter: Taylor Elizabeth Johnson of Lew- es; six brothers: James Johnson Jr. and wife Nellie of Spring, Texas; Greg Johnson of Long Island, N.Y.; Tim Johnson and wife Nancy of Houston, Texas; Dave Johnson of Nevis, West Indies; Kerry "Merv" Johnson of Austin, Texas; and Eric Johnson and wife Valarie of Houston; one sister: Patty Johnson of Spring; his sister-in-law Maria (Dono- frio) Caras and husband Steve of Lewes; sister-in-law Dina Marie Donofrio of Lewes; in-laws Tony and Joan Donofrio of Lewes; a niece: Jacqueline Michelle Dono- frio; a great:nephew: Anthony Donofrio; as well as many other nieces and nephews throughout the country; and his beloved ca- nine companion, Angle. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m Friday, Jan. 24, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Cre- matorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call begin- ning at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Christopher John- son's name may be made to The Johnson Family, c/o PNC Bank, 17725 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Mary J. Davis, true caregiver Mary J. Davis, 79, of Millsboro, formerly of New Castle County, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at her home after a brief illness. Mary was born in West Ches- ter, Pa July 19, 1934, daughter of the late Jesse H. and Regina Frances (Brown) Jarrett. She was a true caregiver at heart who always put others first and saw the best in everyone. Mary will be remembered as an avid reader, a generous person, but most im- portantly a loving mother, nana and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband John Warren Davis Jr.; and a brother, Jesse "Spike" Jarrett. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Patty Mul- likin and her husband Charles of Dagsboro and Jeanne Williams and her husband Chip of Mills- bore; four grandchildren, C.J. Mullikin, Will Mullikin, Dustin Williams and Amanda Williams; special sister-in-law Lucy Davis of Boothwyn, Pa.; a dear cousin, G. Norman Davis of Holladay Tenn.; many cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews; and her beloved grand-dog Minnie. In respecting Mary's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests me- morial contributions in Mary's name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Robert G. Bennett Jr could fix anything Robert Garner Bennett Jr 73, of Millsboro, passed away Sun- day, Jan. 19, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Dec. 21, 1940, son of the late Robert G. and Gaye (Podu- fal) Bennett Sr. Bob enjoyed fishing the lo- cal waters and working around the yard. Mr. Bennett was well known for his skills in refurbish- ing furniture and was truly a "Mr. Fix-It." He enjoyed the time spent with family, friends and es- pecially with his granddaughter, Maggie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Bennett.
