6~ FRIDAY, JANUARY 24 - MONDAY, JANUARY 27, 2014 CAPE Life Cape Gazette -KOREAN WAR VETERANS ELECT NEW OFFICERS SUBMITTED PHOTO NEW OFFICERS OF the Bill Cart Chapter 1 Korean War Veterans As- sociation were recently sworn in at a Christmas luncheon at Irish Eyes Restaurant in Lewes. The new officers assumed their positions immedi- ately and will have the responsibility of aiding and assisting sick and dis- abled veterans from all wars as well as those from Korea. Other duties include participation in local community functions with the Color Corps, ~ keeping veterans informed on government and health issues. Another important function of the KWVA is the sponsorship of the Wounded Warrior Fund from which monetary distributions are made to various veteran groups including the Warrior Transition Unit, Fisher House and USO at Fort Belvoir and Warrior Family Support Center at Fort Knox. Total contributions from the Chapter 1 KWVA amounted to more than $30,000 in 2013. The KWVA acts as an intermediary in col- lecting monies from various community and business groups, and then delivers the funds where they are most needed. Any Korean War or Ko- rean service veteran interested in joining the group, or anyone interested in making a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Fund should contact.
