Rita Morrow-Kimble, nature lover Rita Morrow-Kimble, 81, of Long Neck, formerly of Nor- wood, Pa., passed away peaceful- ly at home in the arms of her family Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010. Rita was born April 24,1928, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late George Bertram LleweUyn and Katharine Kayris Llewellyn. Rita moved from Norwood to Pot-Nets Bay- side 20 years ago. She loved nature and the beach and long walks at Cape Hen- lopen State Park with her husband, Bud. Rita was an Rita avid reader Morrow-Kimble and prior to her illness she enjoyed partici- pating in the LAFF craft group. Her greatest joY in this life was caring for and counseling her children and grandchildren. "Gran/GiGi" took great pleasure in the arrival of each great- grandchild. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, George Llewellyn; and her beloved first husband and fa- ther of her five children, Harry M. Morrow. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard "Bud" Kimble; and her five children, Paul H. Morrow and wife Margaret of Laurinburg, N.C., Sheila A. Mor- row and life partner Ellen of Long Neck, Mary Beth Steinmetz and husband Douglas of Wood- bury Heights, N.J., Katharine Cocci and husband Peter of Holies, P&, and David W. Mor- row of Norwood; 10 grandchil- dren, Christopher, Kitty, Monica, Mary Rita, Melissa, Douglas, Jacqueline, Ian, Matthew and Victoi:ia; and eight great-grand- children, Brystal, Kayla, Dylan, Avery, Sylar, Rollins, Sarah and Carly. The family would like to ex- tend a special note of thanks to her dear friends Helen Mastro- cola and Ruth McCullough for their care and support, especially during her final days. A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Fu- neral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 9:30 a.m. A Mags of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., Saturday at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro. Edmund Zielonka, Navy veteran Edmund Zielonka, 83, of Mills- boro, passed away Sunday, ]an. 17, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born in Woonsocket, ILL, son of the late Gabriel and Rose Potrzeba Zielonka. Edmund was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. He loved gambling and enjoyed horse races. He is survived by his sister, Irene Szwed; and his nieces and nephews, Emil Zielonka, Keith Zielonka, Cheryl Stratham, Eileen Klinkatsis, Michael Szwed and Renee Torre. A graveside service with mili- tary honors will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at Delaware Veter- ans Memorial Cemetery in Mills- boro. Eckert, 82, of Mills- boro, formerly of East Peters- burg, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mr. Eckert was born Nov. 22, 1927, in East Petersburg, son of the late Henry and Mary Eckert. After graduation from Hemp- field High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Japan during the occupation from 1946-47. Before moving to the Mills- boro area 12 years ago, he was employed as a traffic manager for Mushroom Trucking and Armstrong in Lancaster, Pa., and for General Electric in Lebanon, Pa. John was also employed by Ferrellgas Company in Man- .heim, Pa., as a technician. He was currently employedwith East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro with 12 years of serv- ice. John was a former volunteer fireman in East Petersburg, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in East Peters- burg, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes and a member of the American Legion Post 28 in Oak Orchard. Mr. Eck- ert was an avid sports enthusiast, whether it be playing baseball, softball and bowling or coaching Little League baseball and has- ketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Graybill Eckert in 1973; and a brother Elmer Eckert.
