44. CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, January 30 - February 5, 1998 First class of graduates joins PATS Support These graduates are the first to complete training at Sussex Tech to work for PATS Support, where they will assemble aviation fuel tanks for the new Georgetown manufacturer. Shown during the Tuesday, Jan. 27, graduation are standing (l-r), instructor Bob Klitsch, William Krewatch, Frank Carfioli, Jeff Geidel, Alonzo West, Eric White, instructor Tom Good- win and Sussex Tech project manager John Gosch. Shown seated are (l-r) Elisa Wilkens, Gaff Cahall, Sherry Foskey, Ellen Izzo and Simona Parks. The graduates have completed 150 hours of training. "These new employees have been taught invaluable skills that are necessary for their daily success, both personally and profes- sionally," according to Ann Lewis, general manager, pATS Support. "County council and Sussex County Rre excited about what has happened here today," said Sussex County Council President Dale Dukes. PATS Support manufactures 10ng-range fuel tanks for jets and is expected to employ up to 150 people. PATS Support has a long-term agreement with Boeing to manufacture and install the extra fuel tanks, which give the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) its intercontinental range. Un- like airline-owned Boeing 737s, which have standard interiors, each BBJ will be configured individually to meet its owner's requirements. The PATS tanks will give the BBJ a range of 6,200-nautical miles plus fuel reserves. PATS designs and manufactures FAAo certified auxiliary fuel tank systems, auxiliary power unit in- stallations, AirStairs and crew ladders, central oxygen systems, aerial refueling hardware, supplemental drinking water systems and cabin humidification and ozone filtration systems for aircraft manufacturers, aircraft modification facilities and end users of aircraft, whether corporate, airline or government.
