Edward James owners embark upon new mission hand, older women entering the work force play it too safe, wear- ing clothing that is too large and too matronly. Chisholm and Billy are plan- ning to lead seminars for resort area women who want to polish their images, using models and offering personal advice. "I have the utmost respect for the womam of the 1990s, juggling homes;, families and jobs-- it's a major responsibility. We hope our semi- nars give them the advice they need to excel and visual advice in these matters is always the best," Chisholm said. While women in the banking profession will almost always dress more conservatively that someone in, say, advertising, Chisholm says that one area in which women should spruce up their images is in real estate sales. "After all, the purchase of a house is one of a person's biggest expen- ditures, so a prospective buyer wants to feel comfortable that this agent knows the market. Often women dress too casually and even come in to work with wet hair. Would you buy a house from a woman with wet hair?" he asked. Not that Chisholm believes in a high maintenance lifestyle. "We concentrate on teaching a client to look polished without requiting a lot of work." The most common mistakes he finds with younger clients is that they are totally misdirected. They may be taught interview skills in school but not grooming, so they usually either overdress or under- dress in ill-fitting clothes with skirts that are too short in colors which just aren't meant for the business world.
