42 - CAPE GAZETTE - Friday, February 8 - Monday, February 11, 2008 Exhibitors sought for Delaware Clean Marina Expo Event set for April 2 at Del Tech in Georgetown Businesses and organizations offering green products and serv- ices for the marine industry are encouraged to register by Saturday, March 1, for the Delaware Clean Marina Expo. The expo will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown. Delaware's first green marina expo is free for all exhibitors. Each exhibitor will receive an 8- foot-wide display area, a table and two chairs, unless other accom- modations are requested. The Delaware Clean Marina Expo is designed to showcase businesses and organizations that provide environmentally sound products and services for marinas, boatyards and marine stores. In addition, agencies offering regula- tory information and best manage- ment practices for the marine industry are encouraged to exhib- it. Although all exhibitor applica- tions will be considered, exhibitors who meet one of the following environmental sustain- ability criteria or products are pre- ferred: sewage pumpout units; green chemicals; shrink-wrap recycling; energy efficient or renewable energy; conserves/pro- tects water and/or air; products that are less toxic and/or plant based; reduces waste; durable/reusable products; recy- cled content; organic, but not cer- tified; and products certified by U.S. Department of Agriculture Organic, Energy Star, LEED, Christian school students to hear BIE presentation The Delaware Business, Industry, Education Alliance is presenting a What in the World? program to help to positively influence students into looking at careers that require science, math or a technology background. Lighthouse Christian School is hosting this program from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, for sixth through eighth grades; approxi- mately 100 students are planning to attend. Presenters include representa- tives from the Delaware Department of Technology and Information, Sussex County 911, County Bank, the Sussex County Department of Libraries, the Centre Ice Rink and others. Volunteers explain their careers and the importance of math, sci- ence and technology in their work. Students are able to see a diverse group of careers. The Delaware Business, Industry, Education Alliance is actively recruiting volunteers for this pro- gram in Sussex County.
