Kelli Jo Gehrke and Jennifer Thompson, previously of Maverick Marketing, accepted positions with Group J Design in Rehoboth Beach, joining a studio that has provided custom graphic design to a Delmarva client base for 16 years. Blankets, toys and food for dogs and cats were delivered Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Perks for Pets campaign. Many other donations were accepted as Well, including catnip and a dog crate. A follow-up delivery of more blankets and food was Jan. 22. Southern resort chamber to offer professional development courses The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce will launch Chamber Academy, a new series of professional and person- al development courses offered throughout the year. Class topics will range from leadership, mar- keting and technology to fishing coastal bays and the surf. The first course offered through Chamber Academy will be Principles of Business Leadership presented by Mike Nally of lntraGoal Partners LLC. During these four sessions Nally will pro- vide innovative, hands-on experi- ential group discussions of theory and practice' of better business leadership. It is designed for busi- ness leaders who are looking to improve their leadership in their business and in their life. The second course planned for early April ttirough Chamber Academy will be Go Fish! Dave Beall, founder of Delmarva Fishing School, will be teaching participants how to find and catch rockfish, trout, flounder and blue- fish. The class will also provide hands-on training on Where and when to fish, bait and lure selec- tion, casting, rod and reel choice, and knot tying. Classes are open to chamber members and nonmembers. The mixer is b.eing organized by the Sussex Eye Center and will also include open houses at Coastal Audiology and Dr. Aaron Greene's office.
