Cape Gazette ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT : ' FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2011 93 Rehoboth ng Exhibit on display through March 6 The Rehoboth Art League will display an array of art from its permanent collection including etchings, wood engravings, li- thography, drawings, pastels and watercolors in an exhibit that ends Sunday, March 6. Several of these works have been rarely seen since their Original exhibi- tions. Nick Serratore, gallery manager, and Lee Mills, a mem- ber of the Rehoboth Art League's exhibition committee, collabo- rated in compiling and display- ing the exhibition. "Many people are not aware of the preponderance of graphic works in the collection of the art league," says Mills. "This exhibi- tion contains artwork from sev- eral of the art league's founding artists as well as contemporary artists, and features a range of artistic techniques and styles." Featured works include cre- ations from several of the art league's founders. "Paris Night Life, I, II, m," painted in 1913, by Ethel EB. "There is a tradi- tion hundreds of years old named with the aU-inclusive and very broad term we know as printmaking. This-exhibition fea- tures the breadth of techniques artists use on paper. Beyond the use of pastels, watercolors and pencil, one can see works in a va- riety of printmaking methods such as etching, wood engraving and lithography." "Works on paper have been a predominant medium here at the art league," says Serratore. "To- day we offer many classes in which artists may learn new techniques with paper." Two up- coming Rehoboth Art League classes could be of interest to those who prefer to create with paper. Tara Funk Grim will pro- vide a three-day workshop dur- ing President's Day weekend on paint and collage. Beginning Sat- urday, Feb. 26, and running four weeks, ]ohn Murray will teach a class on monotype printing.
