Cape Gazette SPORTS & OUTDOORS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2011 103 By Dave Frederick fredman@capegazette.com Cape beat Sussex Central on the road 70-45 Tuesday, Feb. 15, improving to 9-10 on the season with one game remaining at home against Caesar Rodney Thursday, Feb. 17. The V'ddngs are 7-3 over their last 10 games, losing only to fat- record teams Seaford, Polytech and Smyrna. The point is the points - the better the teams beaten or lost to, the better the chance of getting invited to the dance party. Cape was led in the Central game by Justin Benson-Reid with 15, Paris White with 14, Andrew Merlo with 12 and Josh Hackney With n. Sussex Central was paced by Dan Davis with 15 and Brandon Lewis with 13. The Golden Knights dropped to 5-13 on the season. "We just wanta chance to keep playing," coach Dwight Tingle has been saying over the last 10 games. "We play the good teams really tough. I just hope we get the opportunity." Caesar Rodney has lost seven of its last eight games and saw a win over Dover turned into a loss for mistakenly using a junior var- sity/varsity swing player five quarters.
