The 2006 Hall of Fame inductees are the Honorable M. Jane Brady (Government), Felicia A. Dorman (Community Advocacy), Lolita A. Lopez (Health Care), Betsy Rawls (Sports) and Loretta BRADY W a I s h (Government). The public is invited to join the Delaware Commission for Women, sponsor of the annual Hall of Fame event, at the awards ceremony in the Gold Ballroom of the Hotel DuPont on March 16, to pay trib- ute to these outstanding Delaware women as they receive one of the state's most prestigious awards. M. Jane Brady, the first female Attorney General of the state of Delaware, was serving her third four-year term when sworn in as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of Delaware in December 2005. In the service of law enforcement, Brady, of Lewes, has been a leader in improving laws for victims of crime and in reforming laws affecting juvenile offenders and criminal child support enforce- ment. A founder of KINfolk, a program that provides help to chronically ill Kids In Need, Brady also has developed initia- tives to make schools safer and has worked to protect senior citi- zens from scams and frauds. Felicia A. Dorman, of Seaford, has given hundreds of hours of volunteer and paid service to teach soft skills training, career development and offender re- entry classes a well as Choices, a program that encourages eighth graders to stay in school. She has helped many people go from wel- fare or long-term incarceration to successful careers. Dorman's pas- sionate advocacy for the under- served is born of personal experi- ence: when in her teens, Dorman was a single mom on welfare. She took the initiative to become self- sufficient, pursued an education, and worked as a volunteer teen advocate for several non-profit groups whose primary goal was to promote drug-free living.
