New bush]ess puts its stamp on Lewes By Jen Ellingsworth Sue Hock knows of thousands of ways you can put your own, personalized stamp on just about anything. Greetings and sentiments for every occasion are what you'll find when you visit the Rubber Stamp Emporium, located below the Inn at Canal Square on Market Street in Lewes. Heck's Rubber Stamp Empori- um, which features a complete se- lection of art stamps and rubber stamping supplies, is a business she recently launched as a subdi- vision of her Silver Treasures store. Both were recently re-located from Second Street to the current location. With over a thousand different rubber stamp designs available in a myriad of colors, you can easily create your own gift wrap or sta- tionary, she said. Name stamps are also handy for labeling personal items, and tcachcrs are especially fond of the stamps for use in the classroom. In addition, Heck said name stamps not shown at the store may be spe- cially ordered. Previously located within the Small Craft Advisory store on Second Street in Lewes, Silver Treasures is a store specializing in sterling silver and custom jewelry and crafts. One of Heck's passions is an- tique doll collecting, and her inter- est in the hobby is obvious. The store also carries quilts for dolls and their owners, as well as doll furniture and handmade doll clothing. "People bring in their doll, I measure it, and I have the dres.s done in a week," she said. Heck said the most popular doll fashions are from the America;n Girl Doll clothing line, althouglh she sells plenty of other types als well. She always keeps Cabbage Patch doll clothing in stock, amd also sells identical dresses for dolll and girl. Hock's handiwork also includes adult-sized vests stitched in color- ful lighthouse or seashell designs, and barbecue aprons in adult and child's sizes. The main attraction of Silver Treasures are the shiny baubles you'll find encased at the front counter, though. The store carries sterling silver rings, bracelets, necklaces and charms to suit almost anyone. Her charm collection numbers over 450, and includes animals, sports figures, cartoon characters, birthstones, guardian angels and lighthouses. "There's not much I don't have a charm of," said Heck. In addi- tion, she also carries handmade jewelry crafted by local artists. Silver Treasures and the Rubber Stamp Emporium are ope n every day, except for Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Call 645-1530 for more in- formation.
