CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, February 28- March 6, 1997. 53 Lewes Senior Center announces tour roster The Lewes Senior Center, locat- ed off Route 1 by the Nassau over- pass, has announced a slate of quality tours to a variety of desti- nations as part of their on-going program. The tours offered below are listed to the public at a slightly higher rate, so membership in the senior center is encouraged at $12 per person or $18 per couple. For more information, call the center at 645-9293. March 14 - "Springtime Eggstravaganza" at Three Little Bakers will be hosted by trip com- mittee member Rose Glodek. Cost will include transportation, buffet luncheon and gratuity, show, and driver gratuity. April 9-19 - "Panama Canal Cruise" aboard the Regal Princess. This tour has a very lim- ited availability hut the departure date is definite. Included is trans- portation to the Philadelphia Air- port, roundtrip coach airfare to Ft. Lauderdale, 10 day cruise, all meals and entertainment aboard ship, baggage handling, port tax- es, transfers to pier, escorted and operated by Footloose Tours. May 14 - "Desert Song" at the Media Dinner Theatre will he hosted by committee member Joan Lomas, Included is admis- sion to the Franklin Mint Muse- um, meal at Zachary's, perfor- mance, gratuities for driver, meal. July 17 - "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at the Three Lit- tie Bakers will be hosted by trip committee member Shirley lohn- son. The cost includes transporta- tion, production, buffet luncheon and gratuities for driver and meal. Aug. 20-27 - "Mississippi Queen Cruise" on the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers. Space is still available and departure is def- inite. Cost includes roundtrip transportation to the Philadelphia Airport, roundtrip coach airfare, seven night cruise, all meals and entertainment aboard the ship, baggage handling, transfer to the pier, etc. "A & E Civil War Jour- nal" creator Jack Davis will be aboard for lectures on various stops. This tour is escorted and operated by Footloose Tours. Sept. 18-22 - "Niagara Falls and Toronto" like you've never seen it before. Stay on the Canadi- an side of the falls, special meals and entertainment including a pro- gressive dinner, British afternoon tea, cruise in Toronto with live music, Pocono overnight on return with town of Jim Thorpe sightsee- ing. Includes transportation by deluxe motorcoach, first class ac- commodations for three nights and deluxe accommodation for one night, breakfast and dinner daily, taxes, gratuities, admis- sions, local guides. Escorted and operated by Footloose Tours. Oct. 2 - "Phantom of the Opera" at the Kennedy Center. If you saw Phantom you did not see Phantom of the Opera. Center or- cbestra seats. Includes deluxe mo- torcoach transportation to Wash- ington, ticket for performance, gratuity to driver. Early bird dis- count for reservations received by April 1 and also a chance to win a Phantom of the Opera trip free. Nov. 20 - "Christmas Show" at Three Little Bakers. Includes transportation, buffet luncheon, gratuity for meal and driver. Dec. 8-12 - "Myrtle Beach Christmas" includes transporta- tion by deluxe motorcoach, four nights accommodations in new Oceanfront hotel, four breakfasts and dinners, reserved seats for four holiday shows (including the Palace Theatre's Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes), private tour of Brookgreen Gardens with a spe- cial Holiday tea, boat cruise with entertainment, admissions and sightseeing, local guide, taxes and gratuities. Early bird discount for reservations received by May 1. Escorted by Footloose Tours. May or June 1998 - "Coast to Coast Rail Journey." Enjoy a close up view of America that's unlike any you'll ever get. Travel by Amtrak to the west coast, enjoy a motorcoach tour down the coast and return on a different route. Three stopovers with sightseeing. Due to limited bedroom accom- modations on trains, early reserva- tions are a must. This tour is in the planning stages, but get on the in- terest list now so you can receive your information fast. Dec. 1998 - "Christmas at the Opryland Hotel." Because this ho- tel fills over a year in advance, we are already planning and taking requests for this tour to Nashville. Will include transportation to the airport, roundtrip airfare, three nights accommodations at the deluxe Opryland Hotel, transfer to hotel, admissions, baggage han- dling, taxes and some gratuities. There are other day tours and overnights in the planning stages. The Lewes Senior Center offers something for everyone.
