MARCH 5. 2012 41 New salon offers color, styling, cuts and waxing By Molly MacMillian rnollymacmillan@ca pegazette.com Combining years of styling experience and expertise to as- semble his team, Greg Meyers has opened Gregory Meyers Hair Studio on Bay Vista Road. After opening in February, Meyers said existing clientele has continued to grow. With an intimate operation, Meyers employs an additional stylist and a salon manager who is also the waxing specialist. The owner said he emphasized experience and technique when he assembled his team. "Clients should come here for people who are educated and experienced in the industry," he said. Meyers himself is not only a stylist, but also an educator on color techniques for the brand he carries in the studio and rep- resents at events. Traveling to hair shows nationwide, Meyers demonstrates and teaches hair coloring methods such as om- br6. a way to achieve dimen, sional results. "When we do color shows, I get to work with a lot of stylists who do the stars," he said. "I work with a hair color company as part of a national design team." "This is only the second place I've worked in Delaware," he said, "and I own it:" Born and raised on Delmarva, fellow stylist Mindy ]ones said she's brought many long-stand- ing clients to the new hair stu- dio. Her specialties include up- dos and styling for wedding par- ties. "I love to do weddings and updos: that is one of my special- ties. Proms, too," ]ones said. Styling for 35 years, ]ones said she owned, a salon in Seaford, her hometown, before she moved to coastal Sussex County and now joined Meyers' team. "A lot of her clients know her from her Seaford salon, and they come all the way here for her upd0s," Butiuc said. "She had a really popular salon."
