Candidates for this recognition are chosen from Delaware's reg- istered profes- sional engi- neers who ex- hibit excep- tional contribu- tions to the en- gineering pro- Guy F. Marcozzi fession and ex- emplar3, in- volvement in community activi- ties and technical contributions. Marcozzi was nominated based on his consistent demonstration of technical excellence, profes- sionalism, and commitment to the profession and community. Marcozzi is a graduate of St. Mark's High School and the Uni- versity of Delaware, where he earned his bachelor of science in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering and a mas- ter of science in civil engineering with a focus on geotechnical and foundation engineering. He is na- tionally recognized as an Ameri- can Society of Civil Engineers fel- low for his contributions to the profession and by ASFE, the Geo- professional Business Association, for his contributions to its sustain- ability efforts as part of the emerg- ing issues and trends committee. He was honored by the Delaware Council of Engineering Societies as the first Delaware Young Engi- neer of the Year in 2000. Over the course of his career, Marcozzi has been an active par- ticipant in many Delaware engi- neering organizations and has served as president of the Delaware .Engineering Society, Delaware Association of Profes- sional Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers- Delaware Section. He is also a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engi- neers as well as a voting member of the ASTM sustaifiability and soil and rock committees. Bross, PE, chairman of the finn.
