Electric Co-op signs Statement of Support for National Guard Delaware Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve recently announced that the Delaware Electric Cooperative signed a Statement of Support for the Na- tional Guard and Reserve which Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve volunteer Becky Wingate presented to company leadership Jan. 13. The statement reads, "This business joins other employers in pledging that: We fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Ser- vices Employment and Re-Em- ployment Rights Act Our managers and supervi- sors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those em- ployees who serve in the Guard and Reserve We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire guardsmen, reservists and veterans We will continually recog- nize and support our country's service members and their fami- lies in peace, in crises and in War. According to Delaware Elec- tric Co-op President and CEO Bill Andrew, "We are proud to take part in this important pro- gram. We are proud of all of our employees who have served their nation with honor and dig- nity, and we will continue to hon- or their contributions and the sacrifices of their families." Delaware Electric Cooperative employs several retired and ac- five-duty members of the armed forces. According to Christine Kubik, Delaware ESGR executive direc= tor, "ESGR's Statement of Sup- port program provides a formal process to allow civ'flian employ- ers to publicly proclaim their support for their employees in WestStar Mortgage adds Senior Mortgage Resource Center COMMUNITY POOL WestStar Mortgage of Re- hoboth Beach announces its ex- pansion with the addition of the Senior Mortgage Resource Cen- ter, conveniently located in the office at 405 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. The center will offer mortgage options and solutions to the sen- ior community by offering free information and consultation to help seniors solve the financial challenges of today. Ray Brem- merman, a reverse mortgage ex- pert, has joined WestStar Mort- gage to provide his knowledge and 26 years of mortgage experi- ence to the residents of Sussex and Kent counties. Bremmerman feels the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage, or reverse mortgage, is the most significant and impactful cre- ation by the mortgage industry in recent years. The increases in utility, food, medical and trans- portation expenses and the lack of increases in Social Security and pension income have, in many cases, depleted the savings of the senior community. Cou- pled with the decrease in invest- ment yields, particularly in the CD arena, the ability to utilize the equity in their home allows seniors to live more comfort- ably. "The reverse mortgage is a complicated, terribly misunder- stood option for the homeowner over 62 years of age," says Brem- merman. His background as a former educator allows him to provide the information to the senior homeowner to make an informed decision. "This mortgage is not for everyone, but it is an outstand- ing financial tool that should be understood by every homeown- er as a viable option now or in the future. I look forward to of- fering this information to my neighboring homeowners." For more information go to www.west starmortgage.com. the National Guard and Reserve, as well as their families." As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increas- ing number of unique missions that require extraordinary ac- tions on the part of everyday citi- zens, ESGR will continue to be the informational agency for the employers of citizen warriors. Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Depart- ment of Defense agency and no- cost resource that recognizes supportive evnployers, informs service members and employers about USERRA, and provides conflict-mediation services. All Delaware employers are encour- aged to sign the Statement of Support for 'the National Guard and Reserve. For more information on this program and free employer edu- cation training, contact Christine Kubik at 302-326-7582. in Dover.
