The cast of 11 actors, led by co-directors David Button and Doug Yetter, will bring this typically large-scale show to the intimate Clear Space Theatre. "Musicals of the Golden Age tended to have over-inflated cast sizes," says Yetter. "The original pz duction was a lavish musical spectacle with 48 cast members playing 76 roles. Our goal was to return the show to a workable size without losing the charm and energy of the original:' Based on George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion," "My Fair Lad)" centers on Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle as she is taken in by Professor Henry Higgins, who attempts to turn SUBMITTED PHOTO ERIN W~LL~AMS will portray Eliza Doolittle in the upcoming Clear Space production of "My Fair Lady." her into a proper English lady,As the lessons continue, the rela- tionship of student to teacher slowly morphs into something more.
