: Cape Gazette ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT FRIDAY MARCH 2 - MONDAY, MARCH 5, 2012 79 N Hall Bus to leave from Lewes March 30 Prize-winning piano soloist Amy Yang will be featured in Beethoven's dramatic "Fourth Piano Concerto" with the Great Hall Chamber Orchestra at Bryn Mawr, Pa. The program will in- clude Mozart's spirited "Idome- neo Overture" and Brahms' tow- with ering "Symphony No. 4." The concert will beginat 8 p.m., Fri- day, March 30, in the Thomas Great Hall on the Bryn Mawr College campus. A special bus from Lewes to Bryn Mawr and back is available for this event. The Great Hall Chamber Or- chestra at Bryn Mawr, now in its eighth year, is composed of 46 of the area's finest young profes- sional musicians, performing nn- der the direction of founding artistic director and conductor Michael Krausz, a longtime resi- dent of Lewes. Lecturer Michael Johns will present a preconcert lecture ti- tled, "How to Be an Active Lis- tener," at 7 p.m. in Thomas Hall, Room 110. The New York Concert Re- views hails pianist Amy Yang as a magnificent artist. Yang won a first prize at the International Corpus Christi Young Artists' Competition and the National Chopin Piano Competition. Yang is a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School and The Yale School of Veterans fund benefit set at American Legion Post Special concerts slated March 4, 11 Oak Orchard/Riverdale American Legion Post 28 will be hosting two concerts in March to help replenish its veterans fund, used to help local servicepeople in need of assistance. The Eddie Shermafi Show fea- turing Peggy Raley will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 4, while The Fnnsters will take the stage from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 2, The Eddie Sherman Show offers music from the '40s and '50s, while The Funsters are known for their classic rock and soul. Food and beverages will be available for purchase and ad- mission is a $7.50 donation for members and $10 for nonmem- bers. She has collabo- rated with such distinguished artists as Richard Goode, David Soyer, Peter Wiley, Arnold Stein- hardt, Michael Tree, Ida and Ani Kavafian, David Shifrin, Kim Kashkashian, Andre-Michel Schuh and Elmar Oliviera.
