Briefly Hearing screening set at MMH March 6 The Audiology Department at Bayhealth Medical Center-Mil- ford Memorial Hospital will offer free hearing screenings from 9 to 11 a.m., in room 1210 of the hos- pital, on Friday, March 6. The screening is a pass/fail as- sessment that determines whether hearing loss is present. Eligible candidates are people who suspect they have a hearing loss or are in- terested in having their hearing checked. People whose screen- ings suggest possible hearing loss may schedule follow-up diagnos- tic evaluations for a fee. Those people whose hearing loss is confirmed or wear hearing aids are ineligible for the screen- ings. Interested people should register by calling the Audiology Department at 302-424-5701. The diseases may cause joint deterioration, and in severe cases, affect the child's growth, but with diagnosis, care and education, these children can live a happy, healthy life. Diabetic health-care bill hearing set for March 18 Members of the American Dia- betes Association (ADA), Delaware Chapter, and those who advocate for diabetes education and improved health-care urge members of the public to attend a hearing regarding a bill that would ensure universal insurance cover- age for diabetics. The bill is House Bill 175, and it is spon- sored by Jane Maroney. The hear- ing, set by the House of Represen- tatives Economic Development, Banking and Insurance Commit- tee, is Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m., in Legislative Hall, Dover. (CHEER) and TrailBlazer Health Enterprises, Inc., the new Medicare B contractor, have an- nounced a new service for Medicare beneficiaries in Sussex County: Beginning in March, every third Thursday a representative will be available to answer Medicare Part B questions and concerns. This service will be located at the Georgetown CHEER Center, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The representative will have access to the Medicare B system to check the status of claims, deductive or answer any questions.
