Woody's will reopen for the season on Thursday, March 12. The cuisine at Woody's complements its inviting atmosphere and is as diverse asothe clientele. The establishment also offers premiere entertain- ment, including live jazz on Saturdays. A daily hap- py hour is held from 4 to 7 p.m., with reduced drink prices and half-price appetizers at the bar. Other specials are featured on different nights throughout the week and include half-priced entres on Thurs- days and Sunday brunch for $10.95 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Woody's menu offers something for every taste. Not too exotic and far from ordinary, the cuisine is sure to please any palate. For an appetizer, sample the carpaccio, thiniy sliced tenderloin seasoned with roasted red pepper purfe, baked crab and artichoke dip served in a sour- dough bread bowl or a trio of mesquite chicken, beef teriyaki and shrimp and scallop kabobs. Loaded with crabmeat, Woody's famous Maryland crab soup is also a best beL or sample the soup of the day. The salad offerings are varied and include inter- esting choices such as marinated portabello mush- rooms, grilled and served chilled over angel hair pasta with shallots, white wine and garlic. Ken's House Salad, Spinach Salad and Caesar salad are also included. If you like pasta, you'll want to try either the gar- den saute, a medley of fresh vegetables saut.d in at Entertainment lS61 Savannah IL, Lewes garlic, extra-virgin olive oil and white wine over lin- guini, or the mesquite chicken and prosciutto, pre- pared Alfredo-style with sauteed onions and button mushrooms. Seafood lovers will revel in what they'll find at Woody's. Sweet potato crusted salmon, served with a sundried tomato and madeira caper sauce, sounds as good as it tastes, while Woody's Favorite Combo (a combination of Gulf shrimp, sea scallops, jumbo lump crab cake and fresh catch broiled in a lemon wine broth or fried golden brown) can't be over- looked, either. Filet mignon (with a fortified wine and mush- room sauce) and New York strip steak (piled high with raspberry caramelized onions) are prepared to your specifications. As for the specialties of the house, you may want to return again and again until you try each one. Specialty items include Dinner Bell Chicken, pre- pared Cordon Bleu style, roasted pork tenderloin (with a port wine sauce), stuffed flounder (filled with crab Imperial and served with a white wine but- ter sauce), chicken parmesan (served with linguini and marinara) or apple duck (cider-infused duck breast with a spicy mango chutney).
