48 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, March 7 - March 13, 1997 Delmarva safety seminar slated March 11-12 The 20th Annual Delmarva Safety Seminar and Exposition will be held Tuesday and Wednes- day, March 11 and 12 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Cen- - et , , ter in Salisbury, Md. The event is sponsored by the Delmarva Safety Association in cooperation with the Delaware Cooperative Exten- sion and area businesses. The fee for the seminar is $25 for each intensive training work- shop on March 11 and $25 for the seminars and exposition on March 12. A total fee of $75 covers the event. Jen Elllngsworth photo Bearly Worn under new ownership Donna Hinkle, shown with her daughters Sarah (on left), who is two- and-a-half, and Grace, ten months, is the new owner of Bearly Worn, a consignment shop located in the Quillen Center on Rehoboth Ave. Hin- kle, a former CPA, and her husband John, the former manager of Greet- ings 'N More in the Rehoboth Outlets, bought the business from Tom and Shane Little in December. The store includes a selection of quality men's, women's and children's consignment merchandise. Hinkle said she is accepting consignment merchandise by appointment only. Mousley joins Prudential Gallo Realty in Lewes Dwayne Mousley has joined the Prudential Gallo Realty as sales asso- ciate. The an- nouncement was made by Donald P. He owned and operat- ed a business in Chadds Ford, Pa. for 15 years. Employment program looking for seniors The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) offers part-time assignments in community service activities for jobless, limited-income people who are at least 55 years old. Indi- viduals are assigned part-time hours at senior citizen centers, schools, or hospitals and in other programs. Participants may work up to 20 hours per week. SCSEP is currently looking for van dri- vers, kitchen aides, custodians and office workers. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, at 6 p.m. HIRE education seminar set March 21 The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a free seminar on HIRE education on Friday, March 21 at 9 a.m. at the BayCenter in Dewey Beach. This unique pro- gram is offered by the Delaware Business, Industry, Education (BIE) Alliance that gives employ- ers access to high school tran- scripts as part of the hiring process. Student transcripts pro- vide critical information about ap- plicants, including courses and grades, attendance records, class rank and activities. Home inspection course offered in April Most real estate contracts, FHA and lending institutions now re- quire a home inspection in order to obtain a mortgage, and Delawareans can now act to be- come their own boss as a regis- tered home inspector. Tony Brueneman, of the Home Inspec- tion Institute of Cincinnati, Ohio, will present a week-long 40 hour course in April. Class size is limit- ed to 18, so early registration is encouraged.
