Easter Promenade set for Rehoboth March 30 Spend Easter Sunday, March 30, at the 45th Annual Easter Promenade in the Rehoboth Beach Convention Hall. The event, sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the City of Rehoboth Beach, gets underway at 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be dis- tributing plastic eggs containing children's prizes. Special enter tainment will be provided by Paul Hadfield as "Spats", the lost vaudevillian. Spats will provide a zany mix of egg-juggling, unicycling, ladder- walking, rope spinning, fruit toss- ing, pratfalling joke cracking and character-acting in addition to act- ing as the emcee of the event. Ad- ditional entertainment includes a visit from the Big Dogs of Big Dogs Sportswear, a tentative visit from Carlton the Bear that Cares, and of course, the Easter Bunny. Once again a photo opportunity featuring a 3 x 5 picture with the Chicken festival Applications are being accepted for an arts and crafts show, a flea market, and a home and trade show to be held as part of the 49th annual Delmarva Chicken Festi- val on June 27 and 28 in Milford. The shows will be staged at Milford High School, the site of this year's festival, and will be open to visitors from I I a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 27, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. Admission to all festival activ- ities is free. Home and trade show exhibit space will be 10 feet by 10 feet and will include draping, table, and chairs. Businesses and organizations wishing to show- case their products and services to an estimated 25,000 festival visi- tors are invited to participate. Easter Bunny will be available for a $5 fee. Pictures, complete with a holi- day mounting, can be picked up at First State Photo Service on Re- hoboth Avenue across from the post office. The highlight of the afternoon will be the Easter fashion judging. Trophies donated by the Chamber of Commerce and area merchants will be presented in 12 categories: Babes in Arms (1 to 11 months) boy and girl; Best Dressed Baby Girl and Boy (1 to 2 years); Best Dressed Toddler Girl and Boy (3 to 4 years); Best Dressed Young Girl and Boy (5 to 8 years); Best Dressed Pre-Teen (9 to 12 years); Best Easter Bonnet (any age); Best Dressed Family and two Easter Show Specials. Easter stickers wilt be presented to all participants. For more information, call the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce at 227- 2233. invites vendors Show organizers stress that while the Delmarva Chicken Festival is an annual salute to the poultry in- dustry on the Delmarva Peninsula, the event is attended by the gener- al public and exhibitors are not limited to poultry-related busi- nesses. Outdoor exhibit area for appropriate exhibitors is available as space permits. The festival's arts and crafts show and flea mar- ket are looking for talented arti- sans, crafters, and antique dealers wishing to share their wares with a large and diverse audience.
