92 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, March 11 - March 14, 2005 Keenote students visit Grand Opera House Children, families enjoy 'Secret of NIMH' Students and parents from Keenote Music Studio traveled March 5 to Wilmington to attend a premier performance of the chil- dren's opera, "Secret of NIMH." The opera and its music were written by Evelyn Swensson, who also conducted the orchestra. The story included mice, smart rats, a crow and a wise owl, along with a farm family. Sitting in the balcony, all the Keenote kids and their families were able to watch the orchestra as well as the opera. They also made crafts and played games during family fun time at the Grand Opera House before the performance. The Keenote Kids will present their own performance when they stage the sixth annual Outdoor Spring Concert at 6:30 p.m., Fri- day, April 22, in Lincoln. Songs from the musical "The Sound of Music" will be featured. The public is welcome to attend and should bring chairs or blan- kets. Refreshments will be served after the concert. For more information, call Miss Debbie Kee at 422-0222.
