SDCS spring concerts slated for Dover Tickets are on sale for the annu- al spring concerts of the Southern Delaware Choral Society (SDCS), Choral Masterworks, under the direction of David Miller at 7:30 p.m., Saturday April 23, at the Re- formation Lutheran Church in Milford and at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 24, at the Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Seaford. Celebrating its 20th an- niversary, SD- CS presents two concerts a year, at Christ- MILLER mas and in the spring, to mostly sold-out audiences. This concert will span the most popular choral works from Re- naissance and Baroque to classi- cal, romantic and modern. "We thought it would be inter- esting and fun to 'get back to ba- sics' and present a concert com- prised simply of Choral Master- works," said Miller. Executive Director Elizabth Hochholzer of Lewes agrees. "This concert has appeal to those who have listened to or sung choral music over the years," she said. It contains some of the best- loved and most widely-known pieces in the choral repertoire, in- cluding works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Brahms and Mendelssohn, as well as the popular Randall Thomp- son's "Alleluia" and John David's "You Are The New Day," popu- larized by the King Singers. "We are delighted to have Dick Pack of Lewes join us as on-stage narrator, as we move musically through the various musical peri- ods, from Renaissance and Baroque through the 20th centu- ry," she added. The Reformation Lutheran Church is located at 613 Lake- view Ave. in Milford and the Mt. Olive Church Methodist Church is at 315 High Street in Seaford.
