110 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, March 11 - March 14, 2005 Briefly Perelli joins College of Marine Studies Lisa Perelli has joined the Uni- versity of Delaware College of Marine Studies as an'academic af- fairs coordinator. She replaces Doris Manship, who retired in De- cember 2004 after more than 30 years of service with the college. As academic affairs coordina- tor, Perelli will assist students with their academic needs, begin- ning with their application to the college and continuing through graduation and beyond, and act as a liaison between the students and the faculty as well as with other administrative offices within the university. She will also work on developing marketing and recruit- ing campaigns for the college. Perelli, who resides in Lewes, is formerly the director of career services for Wesley College in Dover. Hart receives award for volunteerism Mary Lou Miller Hart of Lewes - recently received the annual Dis- tinguished Volunteer Society award from Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. A member of the Abbot Acade- my class of 1947, Hart has been a class secretary since 1978, has helped with reunions and was coeditor of her class's 50th re- union book. Shaffer earns bachelor's degree Matthew Shaffer of Lewes was among the 306 graduates at Salis- bury University's winter com- mencement, held recently at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Shaffer earned a bachelor of sci- ence degree of geography. Croll to dean's list at Franklin & Marshall Brittany Croll of Lewes attained dean's list honors at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., for the fall semester. Croll, a 2002 graduate of Indian River High School, is a junior ma- joring in environmental studies, with a minor in public policy. Deadline is April 15 for chamber scholarship The Greater Millsboro Chamber of Commerce will accept applica- tions for its $750 college scholar- ship until Friday, April 15. Any high school senior, regardless of school attended, who lives in the 19966 or 19939 ZIP code, is eligi- ble to apply.
