Shanley will present a series of three programs exploring Unitarian Universalism from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Sundays, March 22, March 29 and April 5 in the Cannon Lab Room 104, College of Marine Studies, Lewes. The programs, sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Southern Delaware, are free and the public is encouraged to attend. Shanley is a historian from the Wilmington area who taught European and world history for 20 years and has led adult education courses at the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington. The topics include: March 22 - "Setting the Stage" will concentrate on the origins and development of Unitarianism and Universalism and their evolution and merger into one denomination. It will also include a discussion of the seven "principles and purposes" of the Unitarian Universalist Association. March 29 - "The Play" will feature six presenters representing a variety of backgrounds and spiritual/philosophical viewpoints within the movement from humanist to Christian. Participants include Josh Fein, Aaron Hamburger, Pam Finkleman, Jim Lee, Diane Minka and Doyle Dobbins from the First Unitarian Church. April 5 - "Where Do We Go from Here" will feature panelists, including Beverly Baxter, Joy Reese, David and Gayle Sheppard and Phil Stewart, who will focus on the activities of the church from religious education to social action. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Southern Delaware holds services at Lewes Middle School every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Knights of Columbus to hold meetings, dinner Knights of Columbus, Father V.R. Capadonno Assembly 2413 will conduct a dinner at 7 p.m., Monday, March 16, at the Angola Beach & Estates Clubhouse. Reservations are required at 947-9445; the cost is $5. Transfer applications will be processed and added to their membership rolls. Also, the Star of the Sea Council 7297 business meeting will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, at St. Edmond's Hall. Lenten healing services set at Lewes Presbyterian Lewes Presbyterian Church invites the public to attend special healing services during Lent at 7:30 p.m., Sundays, March 15, 22 and 29, at 133 Kings Hwy. Individuals may come forward for anointing and prayer by the pastor and other ordained ministers. Nursery service is provided. Seaside Jewish Community to meet on March 20 The Seaside Jewish Community will present Daniel Chefjec of the Wilmington Jewish Federation on Friday, March 20, at All Saints Church Hall, Olive Avenue, Rehoboth Beach. Chefjec will help prioritize the group's needs for the future and the children will make Seder plates for Passover. Refreshments will Purim Carnival set March 15 at Beth Sholom The Men's Club of Congregation Beth Sholom invites everyone to attend a Purim Carnival from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 15, with a costume contest slated for 1 p.m: The carnival will also feature a balloon clown, games, prizes and food. Purim is the most festival Jewish holiday and celebrates the story of Good Queen Ester's deeds to save the Jewish population of Persia thousands of years ago.
