Summer job fair to be held March 20-21 Looking for a job at the beach? Mer- chants' Attic II and General Pub- lic Garage Sale will be held Satur- day, March 28, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Hall, 229 Re- hoboth Ave. The hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the admission price is one penny. 'Wireless' phone heroes wanted for award Last year, Christine Hayes called 911 on her wireless phone and saved an elderly woman's life after she was hit by a car. Because of her quick thinking and care and concern for others, Hayes was awarded Comcast Cellular's Good Samaritan Award. In an effort to recognize the contributions of "wireless" phone heroes Comcast Cellular Communications, Inc. and its divisions are looking for nominations for the recipient of the company's sixth annual Good Samaritan Award. Nominations should include the name and ad- dress of the cellular caller, the per- son submitting the nomination and a short description of the inci- dent. Long & Foster posts record February sales Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc. the five-state Mid-Atlantic re- gion's largest real estate company, reported all-time record February sales for the company of $880 million on 4,920 properties, an in- crease of 30 percent over Feb. 1997 sales. "This was the best February in Long & Foster's 29- year history and the second-best month ever," said Foster. "Trade- up buyers and low-mortgage loan rates are making this an excellent market, a sign of a strong econo- my," he said. "I expect it will con- tinue throughout the year if inter- est rates don't rise dramatically." Senior citizen job fair planned for April 30 The First State Community Ac- tion Agency, in connection with Del Tech's Adult Plus+ Program, the CHEER Senior Center and the Department of Labor, will host a job fair for workers age 55 and older, on Thursday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to I p.m. Admission is free. Many employers, say fair orga- nizers, are looking for job appli- cants with maturity, courage, knowledge, experience and wis- dom. More than 20 companies will have representatives at the fair and will looking to meet ap- plicants from the Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milford, Milton, Georgetown and Seaford areas. Any older worker who is inter- ested in a job is invited to attend. It is requested that those planning to attend the fair bring with them references and rRsumRs. Agriculture department to offer logger course The Delaware Department of Agriculture will offer a forestry education program to teach log- gers how to maintain a safe, envi- ronmentally friendly and prof- itable operation. The Master Log- ger Program will provide various continuing education opportuni- ties to the logging community and will also offer opportunities to im- prove communication between the logging community government agencies and the public. Recog- nizing the individuals who are comrriitted to improving the log- ging profession are important components to the program. For information call 800-282-8685.
