Jilesen. This painting expresses "the family" of animal species in a modem version of the animals for which Intervet produces pharma- ceuticaV biological products. Jilesen was born in 1963 in the small village of Beugen in the southeast part of the Netherlands, the same area where Vincent van Gogh was born. Mr. Jilesen has been painting for more than 10 years. After at- tending the Dutch Art School in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, he worked as a master student under the world-famous artist Professor 'The Hobbit' on stage The Take II Drama Club of Sus- sex Central High School in Georgetown will hold its second theatrical production of the 1997- 98 season, an excursion into the fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbitt." The Hobbitt production will provide entertainment for both children and adults as audience members find themselves trans- ported into a world of imaginary creatures, including a disgruntled dragon and a hobbit called Bilbo M. Lupetz at the Academy in Dus- seldorf, Germany for two years. Jilesen has an art studio in Beu- gen as well as a studio in an old patrician house in the mountains close to Florence, Italy. As to the question of how he gets his inspiration for paintings and sculptures (in marble, stone, glass and wood), his answer is that he gets new inspirations anytime of the day in whichever country he happens to be traveling at the moment. He has made recent visits to the Republic of China and Australia. In Tocumwal, Australia, he paint- ed an entire airplane, "Art on a Plane." Art reflects the whole life of this artist; his paintings appear rough while at the same time graceful with a graphic approach. in Sussex March 19-21 Baggins. The confidence that he express- es in oil is evident. His paintings have been on dis- play in galleries and museums in several European countries and he has had several international exhi- bitions. At this exhibition, a wood sculpture by Jilesen received the highest award. At the present time, his painting "The American Dream" will be on display at the Dutch theater at Scheveningen, the Netherlands, during the musical "Miss Saigon." Jilesen's view that art is life also finds expression in the design of glass sculptures that he did with the most famous glass blowers in the world at the Island Murano Venetia in Italy.
