Briefly CHEER offers free blood-pressure tests Staff from CHEER Home Ser- vices will conduct free blood- pressure screenings from 10 a.m. until noon on the first Wednesday of each month in the pharmacy of Big Kmart, located on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach CHEER Home Services has been providing affordable, quali- ty, homemaker and home health- aide assistance for more than 26 years throughout Sussex County. Services include personal care, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, companionship, respite and running errands. The program is supervised by profes- sional nurses and offers assistance with activities of daily living. For more information, call 856-5187. Lewes Presbyterian holding healing services The Lewes Presbyterian Church is holding special healing services during the Lenten season on Sun- day, March 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the church on Kings Highway Marrow drive brings out best in Lewes More than 300 people participated in a bone marrow recruitment drive, sponsored by ,Johns Hopkins Cancer Cen- ter, on March 11 at Groome United'Methodist Church in Lewes. Most of those who underwent the original screening for bone marrow matching participated on behalf of April Beauehamp, 45, a Lewes woman who is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma at Christiana Health Care Systems. "We were very pleased with the turnout," said Hazel Brit- tingham, Beauchamp's aunt. "The people from Johns Hop- kins were very impressed with the people from Lewes. It usu- ally takes about three weeks to find a match, but I've heard that they're putting a fast forward on it and will know in two- to two-and-one-half weeks." Another bone marrow recruitment is in the planning stages, said Brittingham. Shown taking a blood sample from Sherry Mitchell of Lewes, during the bone marrow recruit- ment drive, is Beauehamp's sister-in-law, Betty Brittingham, R.N. There will be an opportunity dur- ing the service for individuals to go forward for prayer and annointing by the pastor and oth- ers who are ordained for ministry in the congregation. Milford seniors and VNA team up for health fair The Milford Senior Center and VNA Delaware will sponsor a "Health and Product Fair," on Monday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the center's Crystal Room. Products to be displayed include special shoes and products for foot care from Lou's Bootery, items from tile Milford Pharmacy designed expressly for seniors, medical supplies, medical equip- ment and more. Representatives from the VNA and Home Medical Equipment will be on hand. The public is welcome to attend.
