70 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, March 27 - April 2, 1998 Angle Moon photos Stars come out for Rehoboth Film Society's Oscar Night The Rehoboth Beach Film Society presented Oscar Night on March 23 at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach. The fundraiser netted more than $2,200 for the society's inaugural film festival, which is slated for Nov. 12-15. Striking a pose above, during the festiv- ities (l-r) are the film society's Jill Roberts, Producer Barry Becker, Mariah Calagione, Rob Rector and Liz Dolan. Below, starlet Jennifer August, escorted by her fans, was among the es- timated 150 moviegoers who crossed the red carpet and enjoyed hors d'oeurves, prizes, a Chi- nese auction and drink specials (including the "Titini," which came on the rocks and was served with a Lifesaver). Rector, a local film critic who is president of the film society, gave the event two thumbs up. "It was a great introduction for us," he said. "It was really a good indication for the public of what the film society has in store for the future." The film soci- ety's next general meeting is Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m., at Dogfish Head. Annual mem- bership is $10. For more information, call 226-3744.
