Milton Lions bestow honors The Milton Lions Club honored one of their members, Joseph Black, with a distinguished Ralph Helm Award re- cently, which is given to a Lions Club member or person from the community who has served the commmdty and fellow man as a humanitarian. Hudson reeeived the award for storing several thousand pairs of glasses over the past two years. Del.Vosh was instituted by the Milton Lions Club members working with Dr. Carl Maschauer in his Georgetown office several years ago. Evening cruise to benefit senior citizens The pubfic is invited to a two- hour cruise on the Delaware Bay with Sussex County Senior Ser- vices, Inc. (CHEER), on Saturday, May 10, .aboard the dinner cruiser, Lewes Princess. Funds raised from the cruise will benefit the programs CHEER conducts for area seniors. The cruise ship will leave Fish- erman&apos;s Wharf at 3:30 p.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. It will travel out the canal and enter the bay via Roosevelt Inlet. League of Women Voters to meet April 8 The April meeting of the League of Women Voters will feature a lecture/discussion by Erika Wilson, on "Pink for a Girl - 100 Years of Prejudice." Wilson, who received post-graduate de- grees from Bristol University in England and who has done gradu- ate work at Cambridge University and the University of Texas, is an authority on the history of games, and table games in particular. The meeting is free, and the public is welcome. It will be held at All Saints Church Parish House on Olive Avenue in Rehoboth at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call 945-1317 or 856.2199. Beach Day '97 slated for Sept. 19 Delaware's annual day-long celebration known as Beach Day will be held Friday, Sept. 19, in Rehoboth Beach. Beach Day '97 will be held by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabili- ties, in partnership with Sussex County Senior Services, Inc. (CHEER). The event will raise funds for Meals on Wheels of Delaware, Inc. Beach Day '97 will include a comprehensive health and well- ness fair at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, the Gover- nor's Walk, sponsored by Delmar- va Power, and a craft fair and bandstand entertainment.
