Stockley, who will teach two classes at the Rehoboth Art League in April, loves the imme- diacy of the craft. "To see students caught up in the excitement of working with hot glass is a rewarding experi- ence," Stockley said. "Sharing my knowledge and experience, and their experimen- tation and thrill of learning some- thing new, we can only hope to grow and have .the added benefits of our own glass beads to wear and incorporate in other works of Stockley will teach a glass bead making class Tuesday, April 8 through Thursday, April 10 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. In class, students will learn to manipulate hot glass over a flame to create their own glass beads. After a safety review of materials, students will go on to learn vari- ous techniques for shaping and decorating glass beads. The cost of the class is $60 for Art League members and $70 for non-members. A separate $35 fee for materials will be charged. Later, on Monday, April 28, Stockley will begin a three-day workshop for students to learn to and found materials. In this class, students and the teacher will discover different ways of attaching materials to each other - wire wrapping, sol- dering, gluing - so that the student will be able to create a one-of-a- kind wearable art form using things meaningful to each person. Students who have taken the bead making class may find this class a natural next step, although the bead making class is not a pre- requisite to the art jewelry class.
