Don Be Left Out. Miss Diamond State crowned Julia Nicole "Nikki" McKinney was crowned Miss Diamond State 1998 at the recent Miss Diamond State Scholarship Pageant. The Miss Diamond State Pageant is an official pre- liminary to the Miss Delaware and Miss America pageants. McKinney will go on to compete in the Miss Delaware Schol- arship Pageant in June, and the winner of that competition will represent Delaware at the annual Miss America pageant in Atlantic City in September. McKinney, a Dover resident and a sophomore political sci- ence major at the University of Delaware, competed with 12 other contestants for the title. For the talent portion of the competition, McKinney performed a jazz dance to "All That Jazz" from the musical, "Chicago." McKinney was awarded a $300 scholarship to further her education, a $300 sponsorship to the state pageant and nu- Czech and Slovak Heritage Association meets April 19 The Czech and Slovak Heritage minister of International Affairs Association of Maryland will hold of the Czech Republic and as its quarterly meeting on Sunday, chief negotiator of the Czech-Ger- April 19, at 3 p.m., at the Episco- pal Cathedral Church of the Incar- nation, University Parkway and Charles Street.
