48 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, April 10 - April 16, 1998 Ronald McDonald House seeks volunteers The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is looking for volun- teers to assist with the Comfort Area and Ronald McDonald Play- room at the Christiana Hospital in Stanton. Volunteers are needed on Satur- days and Sundays, from noon to 8 p.m. Volunteers will work with a partner and provide support to families whose babies are in the Special Care Nursery. Aneurysm screenings offered in April Beebe Medical Center's Vascu- lar Laboratory holds free aortic abdominal aneurysm screenings every Wednesday and Thursday. Men wishing to be tested must be between the ages of 60 and 75, have a history of cigarette smok- ing, hypertension, coronary artery disease and/or a family history of aortic aneurysm. Females must have a positive history of aneurysm. For screening dates and to schedule an appointment, call 645-3710. Hepatitis group to meet April 13 A chronic hepatitis support group meets the second Monday of each month, at 6 p,m., in Beebe Medical Center's second-floor classroom. Beebe offers free mental health tests Beebe Medical Center's Ocean- side Center for Mental Health offers free, confidential assess- ments, 24 hours a day. Call 645- 3760 for more information. Heartbeats meets April 14 at Beebe Heartbeats, support group for cardiac patients, their families and other interested parties, will meet Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the Tunnell Cancer Cen- ter conference room at Beebe Medical Center. Arthritis group to meet April 14 Guy Longo will be "Hearing Health Care Needs in Delaware," at the Tuesday, April 14 meeting of the Sussex Fibromylagia sup- port group. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Nanti- coke Memorial Hospital, Stevens Room, Seaford. Milford arthritis group to hold meeting April 15 A video focusing on osteoporo- sis will be shown Wednesday, April 15, at the meeting of the Milford arthritis support group. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Milford Memorial Hospital. Epilepsy support group to meet April 13 The Epilepsy Support Group of Bayhealth Medical Center-Kent General Hospital will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, April 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the General Foods Conference Center at Kent General Hospital. D. support group meets in Dover April 13 Bayhealth Medical Center-Kent General Hospital offers a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Support Group for C. O. P. D. patients and their families. The next meeting will be held Mon- day, April 13, from 3 to 4 p.m., in the hospital's General Foods Con- ference Center. C. O. P. The consortium is offering rental assistance vouchers for eligible clients for a period of 12 months. The basic eligibility require- ments are that the applicant is HIV+, and meets low-income guidelines; however, there are additional screening criteria used to determine program appropriate- ness.
