60 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, April 10 - April 16, 1998 Cape Region's Hudson Homes doubling sales facility More lots being added to the communities By Dennis Forney Over the past few years the folks at Hudson Homes of Re- hoboth have found themselves selling to a wider and wider range of people in different stages of their lives. To meet that increasing de- mand, Hudson announced recent- ly that it is doubling the size of its sales operation on Route 24 be- hind Rehoboth Mall. "We had five model homes on site and we're expanding to 10," said Sheila Setzer who serves as comp- troller for the growing company. "We wanted to offer our clients more models to look through. It's tough to know what a home looks like by looking at a piece of paper. "We sell to the whole spectrum of peopie. All ages, all walks of life. Single people, young fami- lies, retirees. And with our expan- sion here we'll be able to show them everything from brand-new single wides from Skyline to the high-pitched-roof double wides from Nanticoke and modular homes from Commodore." Setzer not- ed that where the sales op- eration previ- ously had one of the double- wide Pawnee homes on- site, there are now three. (Pawnee is a SETZER subsidiary of Nanticoke Homes in Greenwood, Del.) "There's demand increasing for these models. They have more of a stick-built, less of a manufac- tured home appearance. There's drywall throughout and wood trim and wooden doors. They also come with a standard 5112 pitch to their roofs with a 7/12 [steeper] pitch available to add even more to the traditional appearance." Setzer said single-wide homes were added this year "because it was a part of the community we Hudson Homes now has three Pawnee double wides, built by Nanticoke, at its expanded Route 24 sales facility. The models show a variety of floor plans and interior treatments. Easter Specials weren't serving and we felt we should add them. All in all we have more than 500 floor plans to show people. There's definitely something for everyone. We also have another 10 model homes on location in Indian Summer Vil- lage east of Millsboro, Rehoboth Bay Community, Angola Beach and Estates and at Cedar Creek Landing, south of Milford." Hudson Homes also stresses that they handle every aspect of getting people into new homes. "We have four different commu- nities where we can put our homes on purchased lots or on leased land. And we handle all the per- mits and landscaping. Basically, we do it all and people really ap- preciate that." In addition to expanding their sales facility, Hudson Homes is also opening a new section of In- dian Summer Village, is busy marketing Cedar Creek Landing, and is adding lots to Rehoboth Bay Community and Angola Beach and Estates. "We have 84 lots in Indian Summer Village, on Route 24. They're about half an Continued on page 61 227-3883 ~ 800-345-3469 Camilla Conlon GRI, CRS BEST BUY IN RBYCC Situated on the 17th green this 3 BR, 3 BA home is ready for your TLC.
