68 - CAPE GAZETTE, Friday, April 10 - April 16, 1998 - Moore named to assistant VP at Delaware National Adrianne R. Moore has been appointed assistant vice president and branch manager at Delaware National Bank. Moore joined the bank as a credit card coordinator in 1990, with more than 20 years of bank experience. She was promoted to branch manager of the Fenwick Island office in 1991, and was transferred to the Rehoboth Beach office, which she cur- rently manages. Moore attended Los Angeles City College, and has completed course- work at the American Institute of Banking and various other business associations. She is involved in civic and professional organizations, including the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, the American Heart Association, Delaware Beach clean-up and the Needy Family Drive. Rosanne Pack photo Wilmington College brings 'class act' to resort chamber The Rebohoth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce gets a lesson on higher education as they learn of plans for a downtown Rehoboth campus for Wilmington College. Shown at a recent chamber meeting are (l-r) Mike Meoli, chamber board president; Priscilla Rakestraw, Wilmington College director of business development; and Jean Abplanalp, board member. Rakestraw outlined plans for converting the Rehoboth Avenue Mellon Bank building into a combined family learning center and classroom campus. The college facility will operate year- round and will feature state-of-the-art interactive computer projects and educational activi- ties for families to use during the summer and classes for a variety of degree programs will be available during the fall and winter. Rakestraw assured chamber members that the building will continue to provide banking services, even though it will be a full-service eollege as well. The ATM, the busiest in theBtata_ during summer months, will remain, as will services for business banking. She said that the college is getting ideas from such electronic and automation experts as SONY, Walt Disney Inc. and Warner Brothers to make sure that the most advanced and versatile equipment is purchased for use in the family learning center and the college Former gardener named hotel general manager When Krystal Smith got a summer job pulling weeds at a hotel in. 1990, she began a career in the industry that has re- cendy blossomed into a general manager's position at the Holiday Inn Express in Rehoboth Beach. A political science major at Clarion University, she found a sunmier job at Knight's Inn in her home- town of Erie, Pa., and eventually was offered a front desk position. Smith has held positions at the Residence Inn in Erie, Pa; the Eden Resort Best Western in Lancaster, Pa.;. and the Holiday Inn Ex- press in Elizabethtown, Pa. She was recently named general manager of the hotel, which is locat- SMITH ed off Route 1, behind the County Bank building. Smith now resides in Milton. Thunderbird holds ribbon cutting The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Thunderbird Shop at 200 Rehoboth Avenue on April 6, to commemorate the first- year anniversary under John Wolfe's ownership. Joining Wolfe, middle, for the ceremony are Karen Duffield, a cham- ber employee, and Dewey Beach Mayor Bob Frederick.
