Green Diamond Builders in Felton is showing the new model homes in Delaware; the others are at Maryland locations. Founded in 2003, Beracah has gained industry recognition for its construction of custom-built homes at itsr Greenwood plant. In recent years though, Beracah rep- resentatives have noticed an industry trend in prospective homebuilders and buyers, and increases in customization. "Customers want homes with curbside appeal. They want a home that is visually appealing on their lots while still being func- tional and spacious on the interi- or," said Roger CoUison, Beracah Homes vice president. For Beracah, this meant cus- tomers were looking to combine features from certain floor plans with each other to suit their indi- vidual needs. Those needs led to the new cat- alog,' featuring 56 home designs that can each be customized to suit any particular taste. The homes range in size from 1,000 square feet to 3,500 square feet. Collison said the company has finished homes as large as 8,000 square feet. Beracah has built solid relation- ships with local builders at 13 sales centers across Delmarva. It refer to its homes as off-site, Stick built, meaning built from the ground up as most traditional homes, except they are built indoors to protect the home from the elements during construction. "Our goal has always been to carry a message to prospective builders and homebuyers that a Beracah Home is a stick-built home, just started and built inside our plant instead of your proper- ty," said Collison. In 2005, Beracah constructed its first model home in front of its corporate office on Route 13. With the addition of these three new models, an existing model in Lewes by Henlopen Homes, and its new master catalog, Beracah offers a greater visual representa- tion for prospective homebuilders on their own, individual creation.
