112- CAPE GAZETTE - Friday, April 11 - Monday, April 14, 2008 Submitted photo Cape's Franc Cook earns scholarship to Lynchburg College Franc Cook, a senior at Cape Henlopen High School, recently participated in the seventh annual Scholarship Competition at Lynchburg College, Virginia's most comprehensive pri- vate college, nationally recognized for going above and beyond in commitment to student suc- cess. The scholarship competition was held to recognize the achievements of those students who excel in the Lynchburg College traditions of scholarship, leadership and community service. Cook, who has been accepted to Lynchburg College, was among 200 students competing for outstanding scholarships through completion of an essay writing contest and interviews with Lynchburg College faculty members. Cook is the son of Daniel and Sherri Cook of Milton. Business raising funds for Cape foundation Artistic Designs Day Spa & Salon of Lewes is hosting a monthlong fundraiser for Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation from April 15 through May 15. Those who make an appointment by calling 644-2009 and mention the foundation will see 20 percent of the cost of the service donated to the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation. Artistic Designs is a full service spa and salon offering services for hair, nails, face and body. The Cape Henlopen Education Foundation (CHEF) is a nonprofit organization created to support the Cape Henlopen schools. The foundation raises funds to enhance teaching and learning in our schools. Music school to offer master class with violinist Ransom Wilmington Music School/Delaware Music School will hold a Master Class featuring violinist Kate Ransom at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at the Milford branch, 10 S. Walnut St. in Milford. Ransom, the president and CEO of Wilmington Music School/Delaware Music School, has performed solo and chamber music internationally and is cur- rently a member of the Serafin String Quartet.
