Long Neck scholarship applications available The Long Neck Business Association will award two $500 scholarships to eligible high school students residing in the 19966 ZIP code. Applications and instructions are available from Indian River and Cape Henlopen high schools or by calling 947- 2911. All completed applications must be received by mail at Long Neck Business Association, 32369 Long Neck Road, Unit 2, Long Neck, DE 19966 by Friday, April 25. All eligible high school seniors are encouraged to apply. Teacher of the Year nominations sought Nominations for the Delaware 2007-08 Teacher of the Year award are being accepted through midnight, Wednesday, April 30. The award, which is being pre- sented by Teachers' Insurance Plan, includes $1,000 to the win- ning teacher and a $500 grant to that teacher's school. Each state winner will also be eligible for the national award that includes a special recognition and a $2,500 travel certificate. Nomination forms are available online at Epworth Preschool to host open house Epworth Preschool will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at its Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth site. GED testing program available at Del Tech A free GED testing program is being offered this spring by Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown. The testing will take place from Wednesday, April 16 through Friday, May 23. To qual- ify for the free testing, interested applicants must be Delaware resi- dents and at least 18 years old. DFSA scholarship accepting applications The Delmarva Flock Supervisors Association Scholarship Committee is accept- ing applications for its 2008 scholarship. At least one scholar- ship in the amount of $1,500 to $4,000 will be awarded. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled as a student, in good standing at an accredited two- year or four-year institution in the United States and must have an academic major in or a major interest in poultry. Preference will be given to applicants whose parents or family business are members of Delmarva Poultry Industry Inc. Applications must be complet- ed and received at the following address by June 30: DFSA Scholarship, 16686 County Seat Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947-4881. Application forms and additional scholarship infor- mation are available from the Delmarva Poultry Industry Inc. office by calling. Chamber sponsors four scholarships The Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce will offer $1,000 scholarships to four area high school seniors, to assist with tuition to an accredited college. Applications may be obtained from the chamber website at or from a high school guidance office. Completed applications must be received at the chamber office by 4 p.m., June 15.
