The winners in each category will receive a complimentary photo shoot in the Biggs Mu- seum with Artful I Photography, as well as inclusion in all post- event media. Drexel Davison to ,judge the event The Biggs Museum of Ameri- can Art will host its fourth annual Hair Affair from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 13. This unique event gives salons and hair styl- ist an opportunity to showcase artful hair designs during a run- way show and competition. Eight salons from across the state will participate by creating a hair sculpture on a live model in one of three categories: Fanta- sy Couture, Updo and Children. Participating this year are Bon- nie's Beauty Solutions, Gloss in the City, J La Salon and Spa, Michael Angelo's Hair Designs, Omah's Cut Above, Rene De- lyn Designs, Salon Pasca and The Upper Cut Salon and Spa. L. Drexel Davison of Bad Hair Day will serve as judge for the event, along with Michael Chris- topher Hemphill of Michael Christopher Salon and Day Spa, and Suzanne Martinelli of Bomb- SUBMITTEDPHOTO MODEL BRITTANY Bell literally daz- zles the crowd with a metallic dress, glittering face makeup and elaborate hair design at the 2013 Hair Affair. Helen Kruger of Georgetown named D+elaware Mother of the Year The Delaware Association of American Mothers Inc. has an- nounced that Helen Jean Kruger, a well-known Georgetown na- tive, will be installed by Gov. Jack Markell as Delaware's Mother of the Year for 2014. Kruger received support for the award from many organiza- tions, her church, family and friends. Her dedication as an active member in many com- munity organizations has made her a well-known and recognized citizen. She has also had a perfect a, litendance record of 63 years as a member and Sunday School lead- Helen Jean Kruger er of Wesley United Methodist Church, which is extraordinary. l2ruger lives in Georgetown with her husband, Paul Kruger Sr. The couple have three chil- dren and four grandchildren. The formal installation cer- emony will take place at Woodburn, the governor's of- ficial residence in Dover, during April.
