28 - CAPE GAZETI, Tuesday, April 12 - April 14, 2005 Submitted photo Auxiliary presents $100,000 to Beebe Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary recently presented Beebe Medical Center President and CEO Jeffrey M. Fried with a $100,000 check, which brings its total contribution to the Med- ical Center's Vision 2005 capital campaign to $700,000. The auxiliary's contributions have benefited the Women's Imaging Center at the Beebe Health Campus and the expansion of the Emergency Department on the Savannah Road Campus in Lewes. The auxiliary, which is composed of devoted volunteers and fundraisers for Beebe Medical Center, has been one of. the largest contributors to the Vision 2005 capital campaign, the largest capital campaign in the history of the medical center. The more than 160 active members of the auxiliary raise money for the medical center by operating the hospital gift shop, renting televisions to patients and by holding a variety of fundraising events and activities. Beebe School of Nursing to hold open house Thursday, April 14 Beebe School of Nursing will host its semiannual open house from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 14. Director of Admissions Ginny Rickards, ME.d, RN, will lead information sessions at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to discuss educa- tional opportunities at the school. The school is located in back of the hospital on Market Street. Beebe's nursing education pro- gram is known for offering com- prehensive nursing education, providing education in basic nurs- ing concepts, advanced technolo- gy, and critical care nursing. The two-year curriculum provides op- timal hands-on clinical experi- ence that is more accessible due to the proximity of Beebe Medical Center. Graduates are well prepared for licensure and entry-level nursing practice. Students also can earn a bachelor's degree in one addition- al year through an articulation agreement with Wilmington Col- lege. Prerequisite college courses and a certified nursing assistant course are required prior to en- rollment in the Beebe nursing school program.
