Obituaries )) Continued from page 29 Elizabeth Clendaniel, avid gardener Elizabeth "Lib" M. Clendaniel, 88, died peacefully Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Delaware Hospic e Center in Milford. Born June 18, 1921, to the late Fred and Olivia Mitchell of Mil- ton, she was one of seven sib- lings, a mother of two and a re- tired secretary from the Cape Henlopen School District office. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James C. Clendaniel of Milton; her grand- daughter, Vanessa Redefer; and her two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Redefer; as well as two of her sisters, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two children, Lois C. Cordrey and Jarnes Clendaniel. Lib thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She was very active in her community and church. She was an avid gardener with her yard being on display many times for Milton's annual garden tour. Lib loved long walks through town, sewing, reading, cooking and playing bridge. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, at The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Milton, where she was a member for many years. Sherwood, 85, of Georgetown, passed away Sun- day, April U, 2010, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. She was born in West Penn Township, Pa., the daughter of the late Paul and Florence Heish- er Haas. She was a homemaker. She en- joyed playing the piano, cooking and baking. She was a member of the Milton Wesleyan Church in Milton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mac Carter; and a grandson, John Souder. She is survived by her hus- band, Pastor Paul Sherwood; five children, Paul H. Sherwood and his wife Debby of Salisbury, Md., Richard Sherwood and his wife Carol of Milford, Marion Marvel and her husband James of Mil- ton, David Marvel and his wife Jennifer of Nichols, Ky., and De- bra Souder and her husband David of Gumboro; five sisters, Iola Zehner, Ruth Hurlburt, Eleanor Brownell, Annette A1- mon and Elaine Fisher; one brother, Paul Haas; and 12 grand- children.
