CAPE GAZETFE, Friday, April 18 April 24 Angle Moon photos Annual MS Walk raises over $10,000 to support Multiple Sclerosis Society on state and national level Success marked the annual MS Walk, held on Sunday, April 13 in Lewes. American Legion Post 28 led the national anthem to kick off the event that gave walkers the opportunity to take a 10K stroll through the town and on the beach. The event raised more than $10,000 to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Sixty percent of the funds will remain in Delaware for services and equipment loans, and the remaining 40 percent will go to the National MS Society for research on the cause and cure of the disease. Local walk teams who were particularly successful raising funds included Beebe Medical Cen- ter, Beebe School of Nursing, Tidewater Physical Therapy, Timberland and the Delaware Sewing Center. In addition to corporate sponsors were the Cape Region sponsor Pot Nets, the Blue Moon restaurant, Woodings Beach Dell, Kupchick's Restaurant, Capriotti's, the Delaware Coast Press , WGMD, Dunkin' Donuts, Seashore Medical Center, Morris Shoes and the City of Lewes. "I think everybody had a lot of fun, said Laura Morris, chapter ser- vices assistant for Delaware Chapter. aAnd we had a great response from the volunteers." Volunteers, she said, staffed rest points, registration and lunch services.
