Fulton Financial forms new service company with Delaware National Bank Fulton Financial Corporation, a $6.1 billion bank holding compa- ny based in Lancaster, Pa., an- nounced recently that it will con- solidate all the trust and related fi- nancial services performed by its subsidiary banks into a single company. Fulton Financial Advi- sors, N.A., a limited-purpose na- tional bank with trust powers, will operate as a separate, wholly owned subsidiary of Fulton Fi- nancial Corporation, and will open for business May 1. Fulton Financial Advisors will offer a broad array of financial products and services to its clients including trust and estate manage- ment, investment management, retirement services, brokerage, in- surance, charitable/endowment management, corporate trust, cash management and private banking. The company will offer products and services in partnership with Delaware National Bank, another Fulton Financial affiliate, to be accessed through all Delaware National Bank branches. "The new company will enable us to provide enhanced financial services and products to our exist- ing clients and also to attract new clients in all markets served by our affiliate banks," said Rufus A. Fulton Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ful- ton Financial Corporation. "We hope that by emphasizing this im- portant business line we can also produce an even stronger return on investment for our sharehold- ers." Currently, six of the 11 Fulton Financial affiliate banks have a trust department, with that of the lead bank, Fulton Bank, being the largest. Total assets under admin- istration throughout all affiliates were slightly in excess of $3 bil- lion as of Dec. 31, 1999. Managed assets were $1.65 billion. David W. Schoffstall, currently executive vice president of Fulton Bank, will head the new compa- ny, serving as president and chief executive officer of Fulton Finan- cial Advisors. "This consolidation of Fulton Financial Corporation's trust and related financial services will mean that we can bring clients in all markets an expanded menu of world-class products and servic- es, combined with the consider- able talents and expertise of all our employees throughout the corporation," said Schoffstall. "In the near future, we will also offer some exciting Internet-based ca- pabilities, such as e-trading, client account access, retirement plan participam access, an insurance quote service and a host of on-line financial planning and education- al tools. These capabilities will be available to all Fulton Financial Advisors' clients." Fulton Financial Advisors will be based in Lancaster, Pa., and will have regional offices in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.
