Horn, retired financial planner James C. Horn, 67, of Long Neck, died Friday, April 21, 2017, in the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, Pa., surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 11, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to Anne Marie Horn and the late George Horn. Jim married his grade school sweetheart, Sharon Meehan, and they enjoyed a wonderful 45 years of mar- riage. He and Sharon raised their three daughters in Toms River, N.J.: Maura H o r n a n d husband Ron Leonesio of Louisville, Colo., Kerry Duffy and husband Thomas Duffy of Thornton, Pa., and Caitlin Sontowski and husband John Sontowski of Aston, Pa. He also has five grandchildren. Jim was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School and received a bachelor’s degree from King’s College and an MBA from Fair- leigh Dickinson University. He worked for 35 years as an ac- countant/financial manager for the federal government at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Jim spent 14 years coaching his daughters in the Toms River Girls Softball League, and was ac- tive in the charitable work of the Toms River chapters of the Lions Club and Elks Club for 20 years. After retirement, Jim and Sha- ron moved to Baywood Greens, a golf community in southern Delaware. Jim will be remem- bered for his contagious smile and his welcoming personality. Jim is also survived by a large, very close extended family: his brother Neil Horn and wife Mel; his sisters Molly Middleton and husband Joe, Kathy McGlynn and husband Pat, Eileen Siock and husband Bob; sister-in-law Mi- chele d’Arcy and husband Tom; brother-in-law Michael Meehan and wife Gladys Stiles; sister- in-law Colleen DeGroodt and husband Pat; and sister-in-law Maureen Krauss and husband Jim. Obituaries » The celebration of Jim’s life was held Thursday, April 27, at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Wash- ington St. in Wilkes-Barre and continues Friday, April 28, with gathering beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, Pa. Interment will be private at Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
