Some employees were waist deep in water, pulling invasive plants out of a wetland area near the Delaware Nature Society's Abbot's Mill Nature Center in Milford, while others worked to clean trails and create a new overlook at the The Nature Con- servancy's Edward H. McCabe Preserve in Milton. About 50 Dogfish staffers worked at the two nature center sites. “It's a big day of camarade- rie,” said Mark Carter, who runs Dogfish's Beer & Benevolence program. Beyond helping out local nonprofits, the day of vol- unteerism also brings together Dogfishemployeeswhowouldn't normally get the chance to meet and mingle, he said. In addition, Dogfish also makes a donation on behalf of the volunteers. This year, Dogfish donated about $5,250 to Habitat for Humanity, $500 to Delaware Nature Society and $500 to The Nature Conservancy. For more about the program, go to beer-benevolence.
